A meeting of the Levin Boy Scout Committee was hel'd last ■ night, i Mrs. M. Blenkhorn occupying the ; chair in the absence of Mr. H. Pal- 'j mer. The meeting was well attend- J ed and the main subject under dis- | cussion was the possible erection in the future of'a building to b,e used as a scout hall. The committee hopes to be able to purchase a block of land and build the scouts : a hall for their own use. As nearly £70 will be refunded to the committee frqm the jamboree in France last year, it was 'decided : to utilise this money to help send : some of the scouts to the Aus- : tralian jamboree in the near future. A very satisfactory report was presented by Cubmaster B. Blenk- 1 horn regarding'the activities of the ; cubs. Scoutmaster J. Trim submitted an interesting report on the ; Easter scout camp, and stated that 1 the boys had had a very enjoyable ; time. The general badge work was 1 very good. • „ Reference was made by Mr. Trim • to the good work being done in the ; movement by Assistant Scoutmas- 1 ters Harrison, Hudson, Allwood and - Small, and he said that he held a ; very optimistic view of the future of the troop.
