General Desire To Settle Austrian Question
Received Tuesday, 9.35 a.m. LONDON, April 5. With agreement in principle on three machinery clauses in connection with the disposal and exploration of oil in Eastern Austria — an agreement involving sutstantial conce-ssions by both the Russian" and Western Powers — the Foreign Ministers' deputies discussing the .'ormer German assets in Austria have made progress for the first time in manv weeks. It was stated after the meeting that* the agreement indicated a general derire to reach a settle - ment on the Austrian question.
