Personal Mr. and Mrs. I. Peni, of Vance Street, have been advised that their son, Bunny, was successful in winning the New ,. zealand. Maori singles tennis championship at the tournament recently held at Rotorua. Successful Football Dance The Shannon Football Club held a very successful dance in the Druids' Hall on Saturday evening The function was arranged to entertain the visiting football teams. from Dannevirke and Turakina. Dancers from all over the district were present, and a most enjoyable evening resulted. A professional orchestra was in attendance and Ihe la'dies of the committee provided a delightful sup'per.
