After juonths of publie protcsts, pleas and Govcrnment rcfusals, it is now Imjlievcd that privatc rnotorists in Britain are lo have the petrol ration again. .Mr. Gaitskill, Minister of Fuel, is expected to inake an announremcnt next Wednesday, on the day after th;Budget, when it is felt that the country tuay be grateful for some cheerfui news. Gabinet's decision to provide a limit ed ration, is rejiorted to be taken after :t had received the reconnnendations of the Russell Vick cornmittee 011 the black markel in petrol. There are several speculations as to when the ration will be made available and how nnich eacli motorist will receive. Guesses are that the date will be May.l or June 1 and that provision will be made for af)|iro.ximately 15u miles monthly. The new ration, it is stated, wili be linked with public co operation in the defeat of the petrol black market. The Russell \'ick report is expected to i >0 pnblished next week. prohablv siinultaneously with the Government statement of the new ration.
