Sunimer sport in the Horowhenua district is now concluding and cliibs with wihter activities are . commencing their seasons. The Levin ; Bowiing Club closes tomorrow, While the Levin Golf Club holds its official opening. ' . Marching Championshm j Tomorrow teams from the Hornwhenua Marching Association will j ourney to Lower •Hu.tt to take part in the latter association's championships. Those making the j ourney will be K.B.H. and Macduffs (Levin), Premiers (Shannon) and Bandoliers (Otaki). . Teams from a wide area have entered for the champioiiships, some coming from the South IsJand. The Levin teams will leaveby bus -at 10 a.m., while those from Shannon will ieave at.8 a.m. and from Otaki at 9 a.m. The contest will be held on the Hutt recreation ground.- \ , • Lawn Tennis The Levin Club will be represented by the following in the final pf the B grade competition, . to . be played against Otaki at Levin tomorrow, play commencing atr 12.30 p.m.:— Men: Smith, Mcllraith, Benning and Roskruge. Ladies: Mesdarpss Patterson and Haynes and Misses Hesp and Mulcahy. On Sunday the Levin Club will play the fourth round of they competition for the president's trophy. The following will represent St. Joseph's Club in matches on Sunday, commencing at 12.30 p.m.: — At St. Joseph's.— Men: Sanders, Melville, Gray and- Hesp. Ladies; Misses Lynch, Galloway, Fanning and McMinn- * At Weraroa. — Men: Baylis, W. Batten, J. Powell and R.. Baylis. Ladies: Mesdames Inkster and Weaver and Misses J. Batten and Powell. Softball Competition The following softball games will be played tomorrow, their venue, starting times and umpires being given: Wanderers L v. Raukawa L, Levin, 2 p.m., Mr. B. Lacey; Kimberley B v. Aces L,. Kimberley, 2 p.m., Mr. R. May.
