Weather Smiles on All Over Holiday Weekend
Neither sportsman nor farmer had ground for complaint over Hoitowhenua's Weather during Easter. The weather for. the most part was fine with some brilliant sunshine, though turning windy on Sunday. some beneficial rain fell on SUhday night and this was folloWed on Monday afternooh and night, by very substantial falls of rain, bringifig ftittch hebded relief td pafchdd fariii lands and gardeiis. Accordiiig to figur'es recorded by :Mr. H. Harvey, Senr., of Cambridge Street, Levin, 15 points of rain fell on the Sunday, and 47 points-dur-htg last night. The total rainfall for the weekend was 62 points. The last rain which was experienced in ■the district was 21 points which fell -on Sunday, March 21. If anyone had grounds for complaint this weekend, it Was the .hoUseWife faced with - keeping meat and rationing out supplies over the long holiday.
