Oliver Hardy, back in Hollywood from Europe, says there is plenty of money. and opportunity there for American entertainers, particularly Beigium, which is selling uranium for many millions of dollars to the United States Government. Ethel Barrymore has received ' £7500 for two days' work in a new picture. This extravagance is stupid, particularly when lots of good young actors and actresses are* being uiiderpaid. Not that all the hea'dliners get big money. Janet Blair received only £30 a week for work in "My Sister Eileen." -k M M ' A young English singer who calls himself Ronalde is proving a great success in New York and was a sensation at Radio City. He is being booked for stardom in films, ' though he would be'advised to get a more English-sounding name. M -k • -k Preparaticns are completed for the production of "Wanted," a tense mystery film, starring Van Johnson, with Ava Gardner as his ieading lady.
