With the recent Wellington autumn meeting to assist,. form has been well disclosed. in the past few weeks for the Easter meetings opening on Saturday, chief 'of which will be those .to befheld at Ellerslie on Saturd'ay and Riccarton on , Mohday. Hbrowhenua racegoers will .have the -Wairarapa and Feilding fixtures to share their patronage. Both these meetings have drawn splendid fieldS and given fine weather should draw large crowds. Close and interesting racing shonld he the order of the meetings.

The Wairarapa Easter Handicap should enable Embrolita to make amends for past failures. Royal Vlctbr has alw&ys appreciated the Featherston co.ufse' with solid ,eff6rts; - "Both Bariage and Catterick Bridge ran promising raees at Trentham, while 'Sea Fury, though expected.fo race prominently last ■week, struck trouble in the running which prevented her from giving of her best. She might be seen to good advantage on Saturday. Of the others Po.xella reads the best. A handy field is engaged in the Feilding Cup headed by Silver Treasure, who can be expected to race prominently. Barrage is also engaged in this event, but it is understo'od that he is likely to compete at" Tauherenikau. Palm Bearer is not without good prospects, the same also applying to Yasda, Dunbar, Second Seal and Alriglit. The last named is likely to reach the winning list at any time now. ' i • A-t' Ellerslie- the first day's: progr&mme provides four class events in the Great Northern Oaks and Champagne Stakes, the Easter and President's Handicaps. In the President's Handicap Trentham form points to Selas and Gay Fault. while northern form gives Foxfable and Quick March good prospects. ' • The G.N. Oaks should see Shirley Fox back to her best, but in Miss Bairnsfather, Faultina, Napredak and Belle Anita, she will find strong opposition. In fact Miss Bairnsfather might, prove her downfall, as this visitor is very fit. The Easter Handicap is the problem event on the programme. Old Sleepy Fox is attempting to win his flfth consecutive Easter Handicap, but weight and age might find him wanting. Best form is provided by Excellency, the favourite, Great Trek, King's Ransorne, Royal Charter, Foxwyn, Master .Coronach and Rcgal Praise. However, down near . the bottom of the weights Iwa Jima is capable ' of bringing off a surfirise.. . Master Coronach is very fit and promises to race well. Form horses in the G.N.
