Need For Co-operation In W.I. Work
Stressing the need for co-opera-tion and enthusiasm in institute matters, MFs. Eggers, of the South Wellington Federation, g&Ve an interesting talk to 'members of the Poroutawhao Womett'S Ifistltute at their annual ■ meeting She congratulated the president and mem-j bers on their fine year's Work and expressed pleasure that the institute roll indluded a large propor"tion of younger members. There Was a good attendance at the meeting, which wa's ' presided over by Mrs, Carie. she extended a warm welcome to Mrs. Eggers. The secfetary, Mrs, StrodePenny, read a very interesting report on the year's activities, and was congratulated on it by Mrs, Eggers. Mrs, Carle thanked all members fpr their loyalty and support during the yeat. The election of officers, for. which Mrs. Eggers, OccUpifed the chair, restilted - as follows:— Presdent: Mrs, carle; eommittee : Mesdames Strode-Penny, Spiers, Tait, Sutciiffe, Hanham, Vickers, Anderson and Scott. PresentatiOris of flowers were made to Mesdames carle (presideiit) , Scott (vice-president and Press correspondent) , strodePenny, Spiers, Tait, sutcliffe, HanPenny (secretary) , Tait (song leader) , Hanham (competition secretary) , Sutcliffe (hostdss sectetary) and Anderson, and to Miss Old (Saies stall). Mrs. carle presented Mrs. Eggers with a beautiful bouquet, thanking her for her talk and assistance at the meeting, At the conelusion of the business of the meeting, Mrs. Carle preuented the trophies to the winners of points prizes- for the various competitions held during the year. These were as follows: Best bloom, Mrs. Hanham; best shrub, Mrs. Hanham; best vegetable, Miss Old. The monthly competition results were: — Senior: Mesdames StrodePenny and Hanham 1 (equal)-. Junior: Miss B. Carle 1; Miss. S. Scott 2. At a later meeting of the executive the fdllowing officers were elected : — Vice - presidents : Mesdames Vickers and Sutcliffe; secretary: Mrs. Strode-Penny; Press correspondent: Mrs. Vickers; monthly competitioris : Mesdames Hanham and Anderson; hostess secretary: Mrs. Sutcliffe; saies stall: Miss Old; flowers: Mesdames Spiers and Scott.
