" The annual' meeting of - the Levin braneh of the National Party was hei'd on Thursday night in the Century Hall, when the officers for the year were elected. Visitors for the evening were- Mr. J. J.AMaher, M.P. for the Otaki e'lectorat'e, who,- during, the course of the meeting, gave« his views on "the situation- ih the pominion today, and Mr. C. R. Day, .the eleetorate organiser, who outlined the campaign for the future. There was a large- attendance of imembers. * , |- Opening the meeting, the 'president, Mr. I-. S. Park, weleomed the visitors and ; congratulated . Mr. Maher .on the good work he had carried out fof his? electomte sinee his election. During the course of his report for ' the year, Mr. Park .paid a tribute to the work of the past . committee and to the junior brahch of the National Party. The ball cohducted during the year by the juniors had been an outstanding success,. both from the enter-t-ainment poin-t of view as-. well as the flnancial," added.Mr. Park. w Mr. R. D'enton, president of the junior branch, in repl-y, thanked the senior members for their- work and assistance, both "during the year- and- at the hall. At a recent meeting of the junior committee it had been decided- that another bal'l be held this year, the tentative date being June 18. He„ therefore-, ask.ed that his committee receive the same , .help . ; and co -operation- The 'Juniors' annual fneeting would be held in the Drmds'.Hall on April 7. The followihg offieers were then elected: — President: Mr. I. S. Park; vice-presidents:" - Mrs.-W, H. Walker and Mr. .J. B".,GreyJ secretary: Mr. G. Fiebig; treasurer: Miss G. Rowley; committee:- Mesdajhes J. E. Fullarton, G.' Fiebig, H. T. Tilyard, F., Baldick, M. Pfysclal6 and H. H. Marsh, MisseS E. Whitaker and P. Goodwin, and' Messrs. F. H. Best, R. H. Long, C. W. ' Foster, A-, ' Forsfer, H. Forster; J. Elvidger B. Antcliffe, H. T. Tilyard, P. Stewart, J. E'. ' Fullarton, E. W. Carpen'ter, S. Haswell, M. O'Conner, H. George, A. R. Bryant, F. E. Parker and T. Ecelesfield. It was also" decided that the above committee be eledted • delegates to the annual electoral meeting;, which will take place at Waikanae on April 22. -At the conclusion of the- meet-' ing supper was served.
