Referring to the f'ailure of'the water side workers in • Auckland to resume work tliis afternoon in aeeordanee with. the terms proposed by the Wateri'roni rndustry .Commission and aeeepled b\ - the Auckland braneh at a stopvvorU ' meetihg this moVning, the chairma ii oi the Commission (Judge Dalglish) said that this appeared in part 10 be due to a misundei'standing. The braneh of the Conimission at Auckland had been Un t'onned the previous afternoon by Ale.ssrs. Barnes and HilJ thp.tr as soon as Ihe stopwork meeting made its deeision on 'the matter . tlie- • braneh manager would be advised of the deeision. The terms proposed by the Commission wero put into writing at the ' request of the. union and a for mai adviee bv the union of its aeeeptanee vvas only to be ex pected. This was not rereived until the afternoon although inforrnation was reeeived whieh suggested that the stopwork meeting had aeeepted the Commission 's terms.
