Received Thursday, Midnight. BRISBANE, Mareh 18." The poliee are investigating two more attempts to wreck H'ains- — this time in North Queensland near Charters Towers. The crew of ,a rail motor from Townsville found a fire 011 a bridge over a ci-eek three miles from Charters Towers. Nearby was a sign: "Seab! Next time you take a train up at your own risk." Tl^e other ease occurred when a mixed goods train on an up grade one mile from Charters Towers skidded and came to a sudden halt. The crew found that the bra kes had been applied with out their knowledge and a long! stretch of the line was covered in, oil. Had the sudden stop hroken a eoupling the wagons would have run down the ineline and been wrecked. I
