They demand a bold policy of defence and that it be . treated as yitajly urgent. , The resolutions forwarded by the Wanganui branch were as follows: — , ■ „ A n i. That the Wanganui. R.S.A. .considers that- adequate defence of New Zealand is a vital and iirgentquestion, and that the Prime Minister be requested to call immediately a special meeting -of Cabinet to formulate a programme making for adequate provision for Navy. Army arid Air Force defence .. of New Zealand, and providing a; jscheme of compulsory physical. and military training based on the requirements of the various services.

2. That a copy of this resolution -be forwarded to the N.Z.R.S.A. for support and action. 3. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded feo all branches of the R.S.A. in New Zealand, to the Air Force Association, to the Ex-Navai-men's Association ahd to the Home Services' Association, with • the request that special meetings, be held' to discuss and support the A*esolution. 4. That if immediate action i.s not taken by the Government, or if a satisfaCjtory assurance is not. j rebeived from the^Prime Minister ' (hat immediate ' • action wih be taken: (a) For public. meetings to be helvi by branches of the R.S.A., throughout New Zealand to demand immediate action; and (b) for a mass deputation of returned men from- all parts of New Zealand ! to wait on the Prime Minister at ; Wellington and demand imme'diate action.
