Mrs.Stella Pope - After a lengthy period of ipdif-' f erent health and'- ma,ny Hveeks as a pktient in the Palmerston North Rospital, there passed away on Fetruary ..28 : Mrs; Stella?.Pope;' Born in Blenheim ixi 1885, she was the daughter of the- late Mr. .and Mrs. Ralph Andrews. Whefi; quite young she interested herself in * church work in the- Marlborough province, and • this interest was continued after her marriage to Mr. Willjam Frances Pope, when she came to Newtown, Shannon, to reside. During the late Mrs. Pope's many years of residence in Shannon she was associated with Ven. Bede's Anglican Church, taking an active part in all branches of „its work, especially as a tehcher "at Sunday School. Her life was centred in her home and church, and in these places her gentle presence will be' sadly missexi. . \ . Besides her husband she leaves a daughter (MelVa) and a son (Norris) and four sisters, Mrs. G. Smith (Palmerston •North), Mrs. G, T. -Wells '(Nelson), Mrs. J. Picard--(Hamilton) ; and Mrs. -D'u'A.
