The Mapawatu Lawn Tennls Association's tonrnament for the southern area was completed at Levin on Saturday. The winners ofthe various events all played splendid tennis in their " final matehes, The handicaps were well adjusted so that many even games resulted. As was the case last year, the winners of "the various events came from clubs all round the area. The: star match of the day was the final of the men's championship singles between M. R. Smith and H. Benning. After a very dour match in which he lost the first set 4 — 6, the veterah/ Smitht emerged' the winner by a two set margin, the final result being 4 — 6, *6 — 0, 6 — 2.
