Warehousemen Get Wage Increase

WELLINGTON, March 12. A wage increase of 4s a week for senior male workers is granted by the Court of Arbitration mnder the New • Zealand (except Westland and Canter burv) general warehousemen 's (othei than softgoods) award and New Zea land (except Westland- and Canterbury.) softgoods warehousemen 's award. Junior workers have also- been graiited increaseS. : A traveller other than a country traveller -is to be paid a mihi mum of £7 10s. a week ■ for • the first year and £7 15s nf ter .two yearsj' travejling; service exclusive of ear al-..' lowance and traveiling expenses. * A country traveller is to be paid a miniinum of £8 a week exclusive of car ul lowance and traveiling expenses. Workers required to work overtime after 0 p.m. are to be given^an interval fo>- a meal and paid 2s o'd tea monev. If any holiday except Anzae Day and Easter featurday falls on a Saturday or Sunday it is to be observed on the following Monday. The annual holiday is to re main at a fortnight."
