CHRISTCHURCH, March 14. The visiting Australian women 's cricket team had little diliiculty in beating Canterbury at Lancaster Park yesterday, dismissing the home team for 145 and 93. In tlie first innings the Australians scored 267 for four wiekets before declaring, and thus. won the game by an innings and 29 runs. . _ The chief weakness in the home eide's display was inability to play the slow bowling. For Canterbury in the' first innings Misses F. Pentecost and Z. Hocking batted well in a seven'th wicket partnership of 51. In the second innings inost of the resistanee wa's offered by Misses V. ' Russell and P. Blackler who scored 59 for the fiftli wicket, The Australian (Miss B. Milson) bowled her leg breaks cleveriy.
