Tliis will be a help ( in investments between oue country' and the other. "In addition I have had trade talks with the Canadian Government. We want to buv more from Oanada, but to do so we have to use the Enited Ivingdom 's supply of dollars. If the United Kingdoni had no dollar difficulties we would increase our pu.rchases from Oanada by 331 per cent. in 1948. Mean while Oanada wants fo buv more from as, but unfortunatelv mosst of what we have goes to the United Kingdoni so we have not mtich to sell. Last year we bought three tinies as. nrncli from Oanada as we sold to her. "I think that out of the Havana Oonference is coming a Eharter . thh.1 will provide the best foundation wf have yet had for world trade." AIv- XTash saw Viscount Alexandei ( Governor-G.eneral of Oanada) to-day and retnrns to Washington to-morrow.
