Te Horo Women's Institute Holds Annual Meeting

The annual meeting .of the Te Horo Women's Instituce was held recently, Mrs, Johnson presiding, Opening the meeting, Mrs. Johnson weicomed Mrs. Papich, of Tawa Fiat, who is also a member of the Federatiqn, and a South Islan'a visitor, Mrs. Rogers. Following routine business, Mrs. Papich was weicomed to the chair by the president and presented with. a shoulder spray. Mrs, Papich congratulated the institute on its fine efforts during the year, particularly in sending parcels to Britain, its work for CORSO and part in drama. • 1 The election of officers resulted as follows: — Presfdent : Mrs. R, Johnson; committee: Mesdames Clark, McDonald, Geange, Sutton, Styles, Strom, Shirnack, Evans, Grant, Marino and Duncan. Mrs. Rogers then entertained with humoroius episodeS of W.I. lif.e in the coal mining town of Brunnerton, and with Mrs. Papich was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The points prize winners for the year were: — Best flower: Mrs. .Mq-B-jnald; decorative: Mi's. Strom; other competitions: Mrs. Johnson. The monthly competitions were won as follows: — Best flower:- Mrs. Johnson 1, Mrs. Geange 2, Mrs. Brown 3. Shoulder spray: Mrs. Spiers 1, Mrs. Johnson 2. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Geange and Sutton .
