Signal Officer, the South Island representative in 'the Autumn Handieap is in keen demand as also is Mesalliance in the' Thompson Handieap. Favouritism in the Railway Handieap is shared between Citril, Deprive and Fleetwood. Other meetings to be held, prospects for whieh are also on this page, are Ohinemuri, Opunake and the Metropolitan Trots.Trentham Fields Reviewed Best form in the Rimu Highweight is held by Glad Fox, Gunther, Culloden Moor, Beneve, Mine Host and Gynerio. All the aoove horses have won recently on fast tracks and if such conditions prevail tomorrow prospects are that the winner will be concealed in the above. A large field' will parade for the two-year-old event, the Plunket Nursery, in whieh best form has. been shown by Buchanan, Air "Belle, ' Vadoz, Blue.Seal, Golden' Arrow, Lord Azure, Blue Spec, Irresistible and Leyma. Unless something of unknown quantity upsets punters the issue should rest between Buchanan, Air Belle, Vadoz, Blue Seal, and Lord Azure. These five will carry the bulk of support on the machines. Buchanan is said to be a brilliant youngster. The North Island Challenge Stakes has drawn a good field and should provide a keen race. Irish Note has not been working attractively and might need the race, but King's Ransom, Voltaic, Wild| Note, Excellency and Great Trek* will all help toi provjde the thrill$' to the race. favourite. Desert Fox iooks very fit and well and it is difflcult to understand his indifferent running at Masterton. However, the race has done him good. Indian Dawn's, failure at the Dunedin Centennial meeting was difficult to understand, but she likes Trentham ahd can be relied on to give a good account of herself. Yasda has run some consistently good fourths this term, but has not had the best of luck. At the weights Yasda must be respected.
