"WELLINGTON, March 11. Regpla,tioBS exteuding tbe pro-. visions of the New. Zealand Strikes/ and Lockoiffs Emergency Regujatxons ,to cover industrial , disputes in the Cock Islands were gazetted- tonight. The regulations, which are called the Cook Jslands Trade Dispute Intimidation Regulations, provide that every person comnuts an oitence, wno mtumdates any person actmg witnin his- legal rights by the use of vxolence to either that person, his wife or child, or hy threats to injure that person or his property. Intimidation also ineludes foilowing any other person from place to place, hiding tools, clothes or other property, ' watching or besetting his house or works or . place of business, or following any person with two or more other persons in a disorderly manner in or through any public way or public place. Offences against the regulations also include incitement, instigation, aiding or abetting any unlawful lockout or unlawful strike or continuance of ariy unlawful lookout or strike or assisting aiiy person to become a party to such lookout or strike. Persons are also liabje who make gifts of money or other valuables for .the henelit of anyone wlio is a party to unlawful lockouts " or strikes or registered unions or other bodies • wliose "members are deemed to have aided or abetted " such lockouts or strikes wxthin the meaixxjrg of the regulations. Any corporate body committing an offeuce against the regulations is. liable to a fine not exceeding £53 and any person who offends is liable to a fine not exceeding - £20 or three months' imprisonment. These regulations are interesting in view of the Prinxe Minister's announcement last week that a small body of police is leaving for Raratonga in case of trouble there.
