Home And School Association Elects Officers
At a representative meeting of - ;he Otaki Home and- School Assojiation, which has functioned sucjessfully for nearly two years, the collowing officers were elected:— Chairman: Mr. R. Bills (re-elect-ed) ; deputy chairman: Mr.- A. G. Kirkwood; secretary: Mr- W. H. Townrow (re-elected) ; committee: Mesdames H. Gole and J . Ross, and Messrs. James, > Vernon and Calwell. Mr. Townrow read a report which showed that several m,eetings had been held, each being .well. attended. Several people prominent in education circles had addressed the association _ and interest had been well maintained. There had been a spirit of cooperation fostered between parents and the school. A discussion took place on the programmes for "the colning year and it was decided to hold an open forum for the meeting in April, when parents and others were invited to forward questions dealin'g with school work. The headmaster, Mr. J. E. James, explained the school banking system, and the . uses of radio in *the school. Different speakers described their experiences during the emergency scheme, especially in connection .with the reception of radio lessons. A dainty supper 'was served at the close. of the meeting.
