The patient, a nine-year-old b'irl who attended the ' Alartinborougii Hcliool, was admitted to the Masterton uospkal Ihe previous evening' as a stispicious case of infantile jiaralvsis and the diagnosis was coniirmed' as positive today. On recciving infornialion of this the District Aledical Officer of Health (Dr. J. P. Kennedv) imniediately issued 'an order cJosing the Martinborough Hcliool until further notice. He is also taking steps to have all Hunday scliools in Martinborough closed next Hunday and to reinstate the prohibition on the attendanee of children under l(i at pictures in that town. rhis case of infantile paralysis will be !
