Czech Delegate's Dramatic Appeal To U.N.
Received Thursday, 10.35 a.m. NEW YORK, March 10. In a dramatic and unprecedented move, Czechoslovakia's chief United ■ Nations delegate, Jan Papanek, today formally demanded that the Security Council investigate the Communist coup in Czechoslovakia. Mr. Papanek, defying the Communist .Goveinment of his .own country, ' charged in a complaiut filed with the Secretary-GeneraT, that the Communist seizure of power was "prepared and executed with the help, encouragement and advice of Russia." He deelared that Russia had used the threat of force and fifthcolumn tactics to overthrow the legal Government and instal an "instrument soiely designed for the use of Russia." He added that he was bringing the niatter to the Security Council's attention as the situation is likely to endanger peace and security."
