NEW PLYMOUTH, Alarch 9. After making a foreed landing at Awakino this afternoon- a Tauranga pilot stepped out of his Tiger Moth plane to dispover that his passenger was dead. The passenger was Mr. W. Denfpster, of Opotiki, aged 74. The plane, fLown by Mr. E. C. Eoberts, a meinber of the Tauranga Aero Club, left Opotiki for New Plymouth this morning. Flying conditions were not the best and when nearing Awakino the pilot noticed that his passenger was unconscious. He decided to make a foreed landing and toueked down on a prop'erty about three miles north pf Awakino, causing slight damage to the plane 's underenrriage.
