"New Look" Frocks Proving Unpopular

"New Look" frocks are proving so uiipopular with British women that some stores have reported that nine out of ten long frocks being sold are v being returned 'for'-'shortening. One Cambridge firni has developed a new secondary industry by making patchwofk rugS out of the discarded remnants. A large Londoii manufacturing firm said it had decided to discontinue xhaking "NeW Lobk"- women's clothes becaiise .so much' difficulty was , being experienced iii selling them. A- -buyer in one large London store said that out of 43 "New Look" coats sold by his firm- in ohe day 41 were left bdhind to "He shortened.
