WELLINGTON, March 10. Nbws df the compiiatipn of a national regfster of licehsed motor-> drivers was given by the Transport Department in a report at today's meeting of the New Zealand Road Safety Council. The report said that the driving histories of ficence holders who had repeated accidents would be investigated, and the persons concerned interViewed by an experienced traffic inspector who, if it is 'deemed necessary, will recommend the Conimissioner of Transport to .review the licence. This will entail an examination of the driver's knowledge of traffic laws, an eyesight and hearing test, a practical driving test and in some cases a special medical test.
