Uniforms bf the teams this season are mdre cblqurful and heatiy desigiied thtto pre'viously, and some outstandihg costumes will be worn. Led by the Horowhenua Highland Hand, the march past of the . 38 teams wfll commenee at 1 p.m., V Captain L, R., Baigent, M.B.E., of/ Palmerstoh North, takMg the salute as the. parade passes the grandstand. Wheil thb parade is formed up . the Levin Municipal Band will play the National . Aiithem, two of the local boy scouts breaking the Union Jack and N.Z. Ensrgn at the same time, . The official opening by Mr, D. Fitzgerald, patron oi uie jdorowhenua Associaticn, will follow, he being supported by the DeputyMayor of Levin, Mr. D. J. Gardiner. Then Will follow the marching Championship. 1 At 3 p.m. Mr. -A. E. Harper, Assistant Under-Secrb- • tary of the Department ,of internal 1 Affairs, will aiTive and with Mrs. .Fitzgerald, -will officiate at .the presentatidn of trophies. .Other ciistmguished visitors for the day will include Major Rangi Logan, chief judge, from Otane, while Miss Phyllis Stewart, of Wellingtoh, ahd I Miss Joan Brabner, of Pahiatua, | who led Priiigle's tbam to maiiy successes; wfll judge the costumes. A .new procedui'e will be adopted with the costume . judging, thi's being done while tlie team is ' on the march. • With record en«tries, all events wfll be kept strictly to schedule, and teams. must be at the startirig pbint all the time. At the conclilsion of the Contest the highlight of the day will take place. this'heing * the serpentine march involving-456 girls.
