Wanderers Preparing For Rugby Season
"The club ftelded two teams, one senior and one junior, in the Horowhenua- Rugby* Football Union s competitions, .The senior tea-m played nine matches in the senior championships competition for the Ramsbotham Cup _ winning six, drawing one and losing tWo", stated Mr, A. Short, president of the Wanderers Football Club, when presenting his report at the 49th annual meeting of the clpb last week. - • .... "In the Nash Cup competition the team won two games and lost three. The junior team did not perform up to expectations, but most of their gameS resulted in close finishes. During . the season the followihg senior members of the* club gained representative honours: Gordon Sciascia, S. Bartholomew, T, . Winiata, W . Lincoln, W. Winiata,. H. Seymour, R. Skilton and H. Winiata. The following played for the junior repre.senta-r tives : B. Marshall, A. Short and M. Hartley. ■ ■ . . . . "The social committee entertamed supporters and friends 'to three dances, a Father and Son banquet, a reception to the Huia . Football Club, Palmerston North, , and a farewell social to Mr. J. W. Rimmer on the eve of *his departure for a holiday in England. "Sincere thanks are. extended to Mi;. -and. Mrs. J. Bond, to Mr.',.and Mrs. 4 R.
