, DUNEDIN, March 7. ;• A demand for the withdrawal of pro,secutions against officials of the Carpenters' Union apd a repeal of tlie legislation un,der which the prosecutions wpr-e. jtaken was made in a statement by tlie. seeretary of the Dunedin branch of the Transport Workers' Fede ration (Alr.-J. G. .Tamieson). The Dune din branch strongly condennied the Governnient 's action, stated Alr. Janne son. If the Government did not witn draw the prosecutions and repeal the legislation the branch would ask the national executive of the Transpon Wo'rkers' Federation and tlie Federa tion of Labour to organise mass demonstrations of protest.
