Grainger, prosecut- ! ing, .said that at 10.35 . p.m. on the inight of February 7, Constable W. R. Gillespie and himself found the three defendants in a car in which ; there were also eight bottles of ibeer, which they claimed as being Itheirs. I In reply to a question from the | magistrate, Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M.f Sergeant Grainger stated that Robinson had admitted that the ,car was his. i Lamb and Anderson were each jconvicted and fined £3, and Robin'son £4. Court costs in each case • were 10s. An order was made for | the confiscation of the liquor. Charged with a similar offence ;on the same night, George McKinley, of Otaki, was fined £3, with court costs of 10s. Sergeant W. Grainger said defendant had been i-found near the railway line drinkling from a bottle. He had seen him ileave the dance hall a few minutes before.
