Fersonal * Mr. F. Thurston, of Hutt City and a fprmer popular resident of this town, is spending a few days in Shannon looking up his many old friends. , Mr. B. Clayton, vice-president 'of the Shannon branch of the Returned Services' Association, represented his branch at the offieial opening of the club rooms of the, Tokomaru sub -branch. Tokomaru School Jubilee A large number of resident(s attended a meeting in the Tokomaru Hall to make preparations for the forthcoming school jubilee celebrations. Arrangements were made to accommodate the 400 persons expected to attend the jubilee dinner. A radio -set wiil be presented to the school during the celebrations. ' ' Foxton Has Growing Pains "The troublq with Foxton today is that the' town is suffering frOm growing pains," said Mr. ' E. A. Field at a meeting of the Foxton Chamber of' Commerce last "week. "I feel, as presi'dent of the Chamber and as a councillor,. that the position calls for cool thinking on the part of ' the council and the ratep.ayers as a whole." ^ Outgrown Its Boundaries Speaking at "a meeting of the Foxton Chamber of Commerce, Mr. G. Cundy said that the borough o'f Foxton was now full as far as the occupation of sections was concerned. He stated that he had received enquiries from persons who wished to reside in Foxton, but they could not obtain handy and well-appointe'd sections. The time had come when the borough council should consider extending its boundaries^ added Mr. Cundy.
