Child Born While Mother Hypnotised
Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Mar. 3. Mrs. Joyce Carter, of Sutton, Surrey, gave bijrth to a 61b. 14oz. baby while under the influence of hypnotism in a Dulwich nursing home. Thev doctor attending Mrs. Carter was a Canadian physician practising in South London. He has previously employed hjmotism in the treatment of patients, hut this was the first time he had used' it in child-hirtn. The doctor hypnotised Mrs. Carter some hours before the birth was expected. *■ The mother said she experienced no pain hut rememhered the direction given her by the doctor that she must ring for a nursing sister as soon as she awoke,
