Death Of Well Known Maori Resident

The death, occurred- at the Palmerston North Hospital on Satur.day evening of Mrs. Waiwera (Jack) Johnson, one of Otaki's best known N.ative residents. Mrs. Johnson, who was 56 years of age, received her. education at the old Mao'ri school, and later in life took an interest in the Native affairs of the town. She was very popular, and will be greatly missed by her many friends. A grown-up family of four sons — Watene, Mason', Henry and' George — and one daughter, Lena (Mrs. J..E'dlin) are left to mourn their loss. * The funeral takes place this afternoon. -
