About (50, 000, tons of steel produets for all Australian Btates and Nevv Zealand, have accumulated in X'ew•astle because of shortages in sliipping aud waterfront laboui. Btorage space is so sevcrelv taxed tliat if tlie Iag in deliveries gets worse in the next few weeks, Newcastle industries may havo* to consider reducing output. Nearly all industries in the Oommonwealth are working under clitficu Ltie~ because of iiiabiiity to secure stooj supplies. - Today Mr. Cliifley said both the companies aud waterside workers were to blame for the slow tuni rouud of ships in Bydney, Newcastle and 1'ort Kenibia. He said tlie best arnuigements had not lieen made by the shipping compaiiies tor tlie rapid liandling of cargo and the rate of handling by waterside workers w>as not asgreatas should be.
