Body Of Maori Found On Railway Track
The body of a Maori has been found on the main trunk railway line one-qnd-a-half miles north of Makerua Station. It was badly mutilated. Constable .Watsok of' the Shannon Police said that it has not been established whether the body is that of a man or woman but . there is reasoir to suspect that it is that of a male. , A coupon hook found in the vicinity had the name of Wiwaki Kiaora with the address as PW-D. The discovery of the body was made after it was reported that the Field's express from Wellington, ^vhieh arrived at. Palmerston North at. 9.25 p.m. last night, had a blood..stained singlet on the front of the engine. 1 The area in which ihe body was found is desolate and there is nq crossing in the vicinity.
