The proposed aetion by the Govern ment would in no way deter the union from its elforts to seeure justiee for carpenters and joiners in their present claim, said the president of the New* Zealand Carpenters' 'Union ( Alr. F. L. Langley) commenting on the statement bv Mr. McLagan. "Nor will the various workers' eouneil 's be prevented from demanding an investigation into rising priees and the ever inoreasing prolit. margins and their eft'eet. on wage and salary earners, and on pensioners,." said Mr. Langley. . " If the wages strncture of this country has been ai'feeted, the iespousibility lies with a majoritv of the Arbitration Court. We must not forget. that the workers' repre.seatative on the Court disa^repd with its rheent deeision.
