Personal Mesdames W. H. Roberts, J. P. Allerby and Miss Allferby comiucted" the "on the spot" refreshment booth at the Shannon stock sale last week. As the result of their efforts the fun'ds of the local branch of' the W.D.F.F. will benefit considerably. The funds thus collected goes to the sending of food parcels tb Britain. Card Winners The attendance at the weekly card tournaments conducted by •the local branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held each Friday evening in Laurvig's Hall have been very good. Prize-winners over the past two weeks have been ^Mesdames R. Roberts* and G. Simp,son on February 6 and- Mesdames W. Picard and M. A. Pedersen last Friday evening. Diphtheria Inoculations Parents of young children are advised that inoculation for the prevention of diphtheria will be carried out at the district nurse's rooms on W ednesday morning commencing at 10 a.m. Parents wishing to avail their children of this free service are requested to have their children at the rooms at this time. .
