Manufacturers' New President
At tlie concluding session of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation Aunual Conference in Auckland, yesterday, Alr. iS. Howard Hunter of Auckland was installed as the new 'president. Althougly Mr. Hunter is one of the voungest inen to hold tliis office he lias been promineutly associated with manufacturers ' orgauisations for a number of years. Over receut years he has been vice-president and later president of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association and has for tlie last eight.een months been vice-presi'dent of «the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation. Towards the latter end of the war period he was cliairman of tlie New Zealand Garment Control ''Council, a bodv establislied in association with several Government Departments, and representatives of the .different- groups of garment manufacturers to coordinate production of garments_ botjj .fjpr war-time supplies and essential civilian i requiremeuts. Tn business, Mr. Hunter •is actively associated with the garment manufacturing industry,. being a director of the Classic Manufacturing Company in Auckland.
