Price Tribunal Seen As Threat To Business
> AUCKLAND, Feb. 10. • Criticism of the policy of the Price Tribunal in allowing- wage and material price increases without having regard to iucreasiug overhead cliarges, was made by Mr. R. A. Moore at the aiinual conference of thc New.-'Zealand Manufacturers ' Federation wheh supportiug an Auckland remit which expressed the conference 's objection to the practice. Mr. Moore said the manufacturers ' incentive to produce. more was destroyed and small industries could uot afford to , accept extra expenses without a chanee of recovery. No allowanee was being urade for salesmen's eommissions and disci.unts and if these were eut to conserve expenses, salesmen would not be' prepared to carry on. Mr. S. L. H. Eichards, of Auckland said manufacturers could not eontiriue to absorb wage increases in their eventual profits while kfr. J. J. Delahunt, of Wellington, said the Price j Tribunal was a definite threat to the ' stability of business in general. . j The remit was referred to the council j of the federation for action. j
