Personal Nurse N. T. Smith,. of Lower Hutt, recently passed her maternity examinations, and will shortly take up a position at Otaki. Nurse Smith is the daughter of Mr. .and Mrs. H. Smith, of Otaki. Car and Truck Collide . While motoring along Beach Road, Paraparaumu, on Thursday, a car driven by Mr. Clarkson came into collision with a truck. The three occupants of the car were hurt. Mr. Clarkson received a minor injury, but Mrs. Clarkson suffered concussion and Miss Rita Clarkson a broken rib and other injuries.. The truck was not damaged. Water and Footpaths -A correspondent writes asking how much longer residents have to put up with water the colour of chocolate, why the town footpaths are being ^egiected, and why holes at the corners of sohie streets are not attended to. Improved Service Wanted Tne Otaki Commerciai Association has asked the proprietor of the l(?cal bus to give an improved service to residents of Rangiuru and Tasman beaches so as to enable them to have adequate time in Otaki for shopping. Not Justified In.the opinion of the Otaki Commerciai Association, the bus service between Otaki and Levin is not justified. It was stated that it encourages residents to shop in Levin tox the . detriment of Otaki, and entails unwarranted use of motor spirit, especially as the train service is now sultable for those who wish to visit Levin. Rowling Tourney Members of the Otaki Railway Bowling Club will hold a tournament on Tuesday, February 24, starting at 10.45 a.m. Four games of nine heads yvill be played. Several members from outside clubs are expected to take part. The club will also hold a tournament on Sunday, February 29. Support has been promised from various clubs of the Wellington Centre. Tasman Motor Camp At a meeting of the Otaki Commerciai Association, it was decided to enlist the assistance of beach property owners .in planning the Tasman motor camp aird its appyoaches. A number .of ( owners have proiiiised support, and' Messrs. H. B. Edhouse and Harold Taylor have been appohRed to arrange a meeting. Publicising Otaki To give pubjicity to Otaki, the Commerciai Association is suggesting to the Borough Council that some of the large paintings it holds should be displayed in the railway stations at Wellington and Palmerston North.
