ALCKLAXD, Feb. 8. A fatal aireraft accident oecurred at Rukuhia aerodrome, iiamilton, on . aturday afternoon. The victim was AL-. Ilugh tierald Binipsoji, aged 44, dentist, of Opotiki. Alr. Simpson hired a Tiger Aloth machine owned by the Tauranga Aero Club and piloted by Alr. it. J. Wallaee. of Alt. Alauganui, to ily to Rukuhia in time to join the express train al Frankton to Wellington to visit .his Jather who i.s ciutically ill. The aireraft. landed at Itukuhia shortly at'tei 5 p.ni. and taxied to a stop with the propellor stili . turning over. Alr. Simpson, who was in the front cockpit of the aireraft, steppOcl out on to the w ing. lie api>eared to Irip over a stay between the wings and fell forward 011 to the rotating propellor. His head was severely lacerated and it is believed his neck was also broken in the fall. 31 e died almost inunediately. Alr. Simpson was president of the Opotiki Aero Club.
