Effort To Raise Funds For Beach Improvements
Tn ideal weather, the Palmerston North Motor Cycle Club staged Some thrilling races oh the sand pt Waitarere Beach on Saturday. The fixture was arranged by the newlyformed Waitarere Progress Society aS the first of a series of efforts to raise funds for improving the facilities and amenities at the beach, There was a large attend* ance of spectators and in consequence the fund was given a good start. The thanks of the society are due to the club for staging the programme, the public for their generous response, the police and traffic inspector under whose jurisdiction the sports v&efe held and the- St. John Ambulance Division , who attended m .case of emergency. .
