Fibrolite Water Pipes Mr. J. A. King, a representative of an Auckland manufacturing firm, visited Shannon on Wednesday evening to explain - his firm's products to members of the Shannon Borough Council. Mr. King 'made an inspection of the area whicli the council proposes to relay with four inch pipes in place of the present one inch pipes, namely, Clapham Street to Ballance Street to the Vogel Street interseetion. Mr. King left estimates with the council for the pipes. Sliamion-Mangaore Highway Good progres.s is being made with the reconstruction work on the Shannon-Mangaore highway. A start was made last week with the widening of the road from the foot .of Crowther's Hill, and yesterday afternoon- the heavy graders were almost up to Mr. J. Kilmister's residence, At the moment only the straight stretches of roadway are receiving attention. It is understood that special work will be necessary on the corners to bring the road up to highway standard.
