BIBLE TRUTH CONCERNING SALVATION Most so-cafied "Christians" have the flesh-pleasing idea that they have little or nothing to do themselv'es to obtain salvation; that "Jesus has done it all, and they merely have to" aGcept Jesus as their Saviour, and carry on just as bef ore. It is quite true that Salvation is entirely of God's favour or "grace," and only through Jesus; and that human efforts such as peuances, etc., avail nothing. But there are definite and inescapable conditions to be conformed to, be_ fore Salvation is possible, things that must be believed and 'done. Jesus showed this unmistakeably in his "Sermon on the Mount," in Matt. 7; 21, 23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the' Kingdom . . . but he that doeth the will of My Father . . . Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, havO we not prophecied in thy name, and in thy name done many wonderful works? And th'en I- will profess unto them, I neyer knew you; depart from me; ye that work iniquity." Such is the state of the vast majority of professing "Christians" today. Free literature in support of the above contention gladly sent to any interested on application to: — H. W. Christie, McDonalfi. Road,. Levin. 1 - SALVATION Is it by works? See Titus 3. 5-6. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY HE SAVED US. Rom. 4. 4-5. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But feo him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Reader, it is impossible to get to heaven by good works. Listen to what, God has to say in Rom. 3. 12. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth goo'd, no, not one. ,-..v , ...
