A Treat Film in N.Z.
Readers who are familiar with the revealing and humorous account of "Life with Father," by Clarence Day, Junr., • will get immense enjoyment from Warner Bros.' picturisation of the story. Those picturegoer'S who have not read the book are due for a pleasant surprise in the film. "Life with Father" will make motion picture history in New Zea-
[ land for the first three copies available for release overseas have come to ,the Doihinion. This is the more remarkable, as technicolor prints are more difficult to pro.cure. The screen play is made from the stage dramati'sation of inciclents from the book, by the playwrights, Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The film fievelops no plot.- It is the portrayal of the day-to-day life of a well-to-do New York- family toward the end of last century. The cast is well chosen. William Powell, as Father, gives the best characterisation of his career and New Zealand audiences will not be di's-. appointed by this fine actor.
