The Secrefary for the Colonies,' Mr. Greech Jones, replying to qdls-' tions ih rhe House of Comrhcihs ^ as td whether he would stop the in--filtration of armed Transjordph Arabs into Palestine, said it Was 'e'xceedmgly difficult to guard the' frontier. Mr. Greech Jones added that it was known that 57 ships had tried to land illegal immigrants in Palestine since V.E. Day. Forty Iiad been interCSpted. The Minister of Defence, Mr. A. V. Alexander, said that the Goyernment was not permitting the expurt of British military materidls to the Middle East except under treaty obligations -with certain Arab Governments. Britain did not believe that' they would use the niate'rials ih Palestine.
