It was an attraetive gallop, indioating that both horses will be in first-elass order for Saturday. .Yasda is to *be ridden by K. Ford and Langue d'Or by. G. R. Tattersall. Gay Stroller Was Brilliant. The best mile of the morning was that of Gay Stroller (W. J. Broughton) He "began, briiliantly ahd was steadied to run the first two 'furlongs ■ in 26 2-5. He covered the first five furlongs over the faster portion of the plough in ' 1.5 1-5 and was hom^ strongly in 41 2-5 to ^omplete in 1.4(J 3-5. It was a really good gallop and he should giye a good account of hiraself in the Wanganui Cup. - Meteorina and Argumentative. • Another fine ' gallop was that of - Meteorina (J. Harris) and Argumentative (J. Hely). It was over five furlongs whieh they cut out in 1.5, break- . ing 40 for the last three. It was easily the best of the morning over tlie distanee and although there were light boys in the saddle it was a fine trial. Specialist (W. L. Aitken) was going well enough at tlie finish to suggest !ie could liave bettered 1.6 over five. Lord Holland and Prince Wanaka vvere among the horses restricted ^ to pace work. They are in good order after their races at Woodville. Afton Water (B. Boreham) and Gay Fellow (F. C. Cleaver) worked well over half a mile m 51 3-5 and they ■ ivasted little tinie over the last three in 39. Coroiiara (Tattersall) and Cheery tass (R. Saunders) were home in 41 :o cover five in 1.6 1-5 and both w,orked well. Other gallops included a seven furlongs bv Glen Urquhart (Clutterbuck) in 1.37 3-5, five furlongs by Czarina (A. G. Waddell) in 1.7 .1-5, the last three in 41, and seven furlongs by Rothnic '(Clutterbuck) and Commercial (J. Harris), the last six in 1.20.
