Death Of Mrs. Bishop Hawea

Another of Otaki's . well-known residerits passed away on Sunday evening in the person,, of Mrs. Bishop Hawea, widow of the laue Mr. .Hawea, who had resi'ded m Otaki for many years and who died seven years ago. . Mrs. Hawea was one of the bestknown natives of the district, and leaves a * large family to mourn their loss. She was 77 years of age, and had lived at Katihiku for a great" number, of years, where she was very popular with all who knew her. She received her early education under the Rev. McWilliam and was an apt pupil. Those left to mourn their loss are Tamati, Mrs. Rehua (South Island) , Mrs. Reweti (Otaki), Mrs. Ropata (Katihiku) , Miss Hawea (Katihiku), Tom "(Trentham) and Bunny. Mrs. Henry Wilson, a daughter, and son, Bob, died some time ago. There are twenty grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A tangi is at present in progress.
