Braund at 8 a.m. today to discuss Jetails of the clinic, towards the cost of which Mr. Hallstroin - .had off'ered to donate £20,000, he was told he would have to wait until patients jhad been attended to. % Three hours later Mr. Hallstrom said to Mr. Braund: "Bo you want the ^20,000 or don't you" Mr. Braund replied: "You look after your business and I '11 look after mine. " Mr. Hallstrom afterwards said that he would not withdraw his off'er but that provided Mr. Braund cured three cases of certified cancer he would make him a personal gift of £10,000 and olfer anothe'r £10,000 to any elinic Mr. Braund set up. Air. Braund stated that as'the Yictorian Government had mad-e him an offer to which no strings were attachetl,, he would open the flrst clinic in Alelbourne and take up residence there. A memher of the Alelbourne syndicate said that the clinic would be open vvithin two months and that ' meinbers were propared to- back Air. Braund to tlie extent of £50,000.
